Travels with a gaggle of guys.
The differences between solo motorcycle travel and a group ride are absolute. Especially when the agenda for the group ride is less about the landscape and culture and more about the quality of the roads (read: twisty and fast).
I enjoyed pushing my limits and learning from more experienced riders. Tight fast corners and goofy fun was the order of the day.
That said, the need for group decisions and negotiated choices is hard to engage in when used to the absolute control of solo living. It was good for my ego to embrace that and take advantage of what it has to offer.
Still, how to approach the South America trip is unsure for me.
Hanging with a bunch of dudes was great fun but I felt little or no connection with the where I was or any of the local people.
Interesting choices yet to come.
